Terms of Service
Last updated 12 October 2026
These terms govern your use of Darsy. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What Darsy is
Darsy is a marketplace. It connects students and parents with independent tutors and handles scheduling and payment. Darsy is not the tutor. Tutors are independent and are not our employees or agents. The teaching itself is an agreement between the student and the tutor.
2. Who may use it
You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and an in-person 1-on-1 session must be booked by a parent or guardian on your behalf. You must give accurate information and keep your password to yourself.
3. Tutors
A tutor must pass identity verification before appearing in search. Tutors are responsible for their own qualifications, tax obligations, and the quality and safety of their teaching, and must hold the sessions they have accepted.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are set by the tutor, in Egyptian pounds. Darsy adds a platform fee on top of the tutor's price; the tutor receives their full price. Every price shown in the app already includes the fee, and the amount you will be charged is shown at checkout before you pay. Free trial sessions carry no fee.
We may change the platform fee at any time. A change never alters a payment already made, but it does apply to later payments on an existing booking, such as a course's second installment.
A single 1-on-1 session is paid when you book. A course is paid in two installments, the second falling due part-way through.
You pay from your Darsy wallet, or in the way the app offers at checkout: by card through our payment processor, Paymob, or by InstaPay transfer to Darsy's own InstaPay account. We do not receive or store your card details.
Paying by InstaPay. The app shows the exact amount, the InstaPay address and the account holder's name. Send exactly that amount, then upload the receipt in the app. Our team confirms each transfer against our account, usually within an hour between 9 AM and 11 PM; your booking is confirmed only once the money has been found. If less arrives than was owed, the payment is not accepted; if more arrives, the difference goes to your wallet. A 1-on-1 session paid this way must start at least 6 hours later, so there is time to confirm it. Send money only to the account the app shows you. Darsy never asks for payment by WhatsApp, phone call or message.
If a payment is not completed — including an InstaPay transfer whose receipt is not uploaded within 2 hours, or one we cannot find — the booking is not confirmed and any time reserved for it is released. If money left your account for a booking that was not confirmed, contact us and we will trace it.
5. Free trials
Some group courses offer a free first session. If you do not choose to continue within 24 hours of it, the booking is cancelled automatically and you are charged nothing.
6. Cancellations and refunds
These rules are applied automatically by the app.
| You cancel | Refund |
|---|---|
| A 1-on-1 session, more than 24 hours before | 100% |
| A 1-on-1 session, between 5 and 24 hours before | 50% |
| A 1-on-1 session, less than 5 hours before | None |
| A group course or a private course | None once the first installment is paid, because the tutor has committed the schedule to you. A course cannot be cancelled in the app after that; before it, you may leave freely. |
If a tutor cancels a session or a course, you are refunded in full for every session that does not take place, whatever the notice.
Refunds are credited to your Darsy wallet, or, where you have chosen it in your account settings, returned to the card you paid with, which usually takes three to five business days. A payment made by InstaPay or from your wallet is refunded to your wallet.
7. Behaviour
You may not use Darsy to harass, deceive or endanger anyone; to arrange payment outside the platform in order to avoid fees; to impersonate anyone; to post false reviews; or to break Egyptian law. For in-person sessions you must follow the safety guidelines shown in the app.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. That covers anything you write or send through Darsy — messages, images, reviews, group requests and your profile. Content that is abusive, hateful, sexual, threatening or otherwise offensive is not allowed, and neither is harassing another user.
You can report any user, review or request from inside the app, and you can block a user so that neither of you can message the other. We review every report, normally within 24 hours, and will remove the content and suspend or remove the account responsible.
You may review only a tutor you have had a session with. We remove reviews that are abusive, contain personal information, or are not genuine.
8. Our responsibility
We work to keep Darsy running and accurate, but we provide it as it is. We are not responsible for the conduct, teaching quality or punctuality of any tutor or student, and we do not guarantee any academic outcome. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited under Egyptian law, including for death, personal injury or fraud.
9. Ending your account, and changes
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete account. Sessions already booked and paid for remain subject to the refund rules above. We may update these terms; if a change materially affects you we will notify you in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use Darsy after that means you accept the new terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Egypt have jurisdiction.
